The high temperature materials lab is designed and built by the research group led by Professor Roger Reed. The facilities are capable of various mechanical testing for extreme conditions, physical property measurements and sample preparation. The Instron mechanical testing systems are competent in a broad range of testing capacities, for example, creep, fatigue, in-situ X-ray tomography, etc. Thermal physical studies of high temperature materials, such as phase transformation and oxidation can also be studied using DSC and TGA.
